A large, reputable organisation in the UAE is currently seeking a Chief Accountant to supervise and direct their finance team.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, checking the daily bank reconciliations for each bank account and ensuring that all outstanding items are investigated and cleared, ensuring adequate bank balances are maintained to meet payment obligations and advising the Finance Manager of any potential shortfalls well in advance. Other key responsibilities will be to ensure petty cash floats are maintained as per company policy and that all balance sheet items are reconciled on a monthly basis. Also, ensuring that all payments and credit notes issued are accurate and posted to the correct GL account on a daily basis, and that all debit notes received from customers have been viewed and approved by the General Manager and Finance Manager promptly upon receipt. You will ensure payroll is received on time and manage the process of month-end closure and the preparation of monthly reports. Other duties will be listed at interview stage.
Requirements will include a minimum of seven years direct experience of which two years must be as a Chief Accountant. Experience in the manufacturing or leasing industry is desired with emphasis on cost accounting. You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business administration. A CMA or similar qualification and multinational experience are preferable.
