In partnership with an Abu Dhabi based client, Charterhouse are looking to hire an experienced Hedge Funds Analyst, who will be responsible for the sourcing and monitoring of Global Equity Hedge Fund managers and their investments.
About the role
At the core of this role, the objective is building an appropriately balanced and risk controlled portfolio, whilst maximizing the performance of the firm’s portfolio versus its assigned benchmark. The role shall involve identifying, researching and proposing high calibre managers, in assigned equity related hedge fund strategies, to further develop the quantitative screening tools whilst driving the fund manager due diligence process. This will include desk‐based analysis, in‐house meetings and conducting on‐site visits. Coupled with this, the role will involve writing research reports on existing potential managers, preparing recommendations to appoint or terminate fund managers under direct responsibility. In conjunction, the role will also follow and analyse management performance and risk characteristics, in various market conditions, to make recommendations to the allocation committee and assess how changes will affect the portfolio’s profile and success matrix.
The successful candidate should be CFA or MBA qualified, with up to 5 years of Hedge Funds experience, along with the ability to use different information systems (Bloomberg, Factset, eVestment, Morningstar, Barra & MPI). Candidates should be able to demonstrate an in‐depth understanding of the dynamics of long/short equities and credit investments, along with a strong quantitative background, with an ability to create and use financial models extensively. The nature of the client will also demand a demonstration of top-end degree education, combined with a practical knowledge, which shall be assessed throughout the selection through competency-based and qualitative methods.
