Charterhouse is working on an exclusive mandate with an incredible global brand, which specialise in manufacturing revolutionary electronics that make a difference to people’s lives and local communities. Our client is looking for a commercially astute Business Development Manager to join their team in Dubai to help actively develop the sales strategy in its emerging markets, primarily focussed on Africa including remote locations.

About the role
This role will be heavily geared towards managing all aspects of business development and commercial planning such as identifying new sales channels, developing and maintaining distributor partnerships, and assisting with the company’s product development strategy. There will be an extensive amount of travel involved up to 60% of the time, often to remote locations to provide dealer and end user training and support.

In addition, the Business Development Manager will work to develop and strengthen relationships with Government officials, NGOs and third-party suppliers to support product expansion plans and ensure that company objectives meet local legislation requirements. This is an excellent role which offers the chance to work in an entrepreneurial environment, trusted with the responsibility of building annual business strategies and providing guidance to stakeholders to direct commercial plans and deliver company objectives.

About you
To be considered for this role, you should hold a degree in a related field, with prior experience working in a similar commercial role focussed on developing sales strategies ideally with a background in engineering or electronics industry. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated track record in developing and maintaining business relationships on an international scale with specific exposure to African markets.

Due to the market coverage and extensive travel involved, a high degree of flexibility is required as well as a willingness to visit remote locations often for extended periods of time to meet key partners and end users. Full fluency in both English and French language is considered highly advantageous.
