Job description
Charterhouse is working with a social media startup, who is looking to hire a Head of Engineering (Mobile Apps), to be one of the founding members of the Dubai development team.
About the role
As the Head of Engineering, this role will play a crucial part within the company helping them build out the founding team and working closely with the founder to bring their vision to life. The project is greenfield and you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and maintaining all applications built within this company.
In addition, this role will also be responsible for team budgets and will be required to hire designers, testers, engineers, etc. The Head of Engineering is expected to stay up to date with the latest mobile and design technologies.
About you
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have proven experience in a leadership or management role, familiar with mobile application design and development. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience working as a Software Engineer and have had exposure to multiple areas across the business (Mobile, Web, Testing, etc).
Our client is looking for someone with a business mindset, innovative thinking and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and new technologies. Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management are beneficial. Strong communication skills in English is essential. Arabic speaking would be advantageous.
