Charterhouse is working with a multinational leader of dried fruits, nuts and spices in the Middle East. Our client is looking to hire a Quality Assurance, Research & Development Manager.
About the role
Your responsibilities will be to lead the team of R&D and quality assurance, ensure the food safety & quality assurance policy for the entire company, thereby reducing the customer complaints and to ensuring a hygienic environment in plant and premises. You will be required to establish, document and improve the quality management system (QMS) based on HACCP, ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 principles. You will review documents (HACCP / GLP /GMP/ SOP /CCP /CP) and change to be in-line with procedures and regulations while ensuring that supply chain processes, from receiving, producing and until expediting the raw materials, packaging material, semi-finished and the finished goods are in lines with all company quality standards. You will lead the continuous improvement program within the company: 5s, lean manufacturing as well as initiate and active involvement in new product development (NPD). You will also lead the continuous improvement of the existing products (EPD) in relation with marketing and purchasing department along with update and maintain the documentation of the product; specifications for raw material, semi-processed material, packaging material and finished products and recipes. In addition, you will assist in the maintenance of food safety and hygiene standards as per the laws and regulations that applies to all produce within the entire region, whilst following-up on new launched product for at least six months after the launch. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance of rules & regulations for import, export and local sales for current (if changes) and new products.
The successful candidate should have 5 years’ experience in a quality assurance and research and development role within the food industry. It would be an advantage to hold a Masters in food technology along with fluency in English and Arabic .You should also have product knowledge of nuts, dried fruits, spices, dates, and pulses.
