Charterhouse are working on an exclusive mandate with an international prestigious mega event which is looking to appoint an Accessibility Manager. This is a crucial role which will oversee and manage the entire infrastructure and framework in regards to accessibility for those with mobility requirements, ensuring that all venues are inclusive and accessible for all participants.
About the role
This role will be responsible for overseeing and developing sustainability initiatives and best practises, alongside managing the accessibility of the entire event and infrastructure. Furthermore, the role will ensure full accessibility requirements are met by conducting audits and implementing necessary improvements to guarantee inclusivity for all involved with a particular focus on those with limited mobility and wheelchair users. This role will work with multiple Stakeholders and functional areas to ensure sustainable procurement practices are in place which support the delivery of an accessible event and experience for all participants, attendees and staff. In addition this role will oversee and deliver an effective sustainability management system in line with the requirements of ISO 20121, including the development and implementation of action plans and operational processes.
To be considered for this role the successful candidate must hold a Degree in a relevant field, with at least 5 years of work experience implementing accessibility programmes. Experience of working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments is essential alongside a deep familiarity with international accessibility standards for disabled people. The ideal candidate should also have familiarity with Corporate Social Responsibility ISO 26000 and /or AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standards.
