Charterhouse is collaborating with a leading entity within the Oil and Gas industry who are looking to hire a Telecommunications Engineer, to join their team in Dubai.
About the role
The Telecommunications Engineer's primary responsibility is to provide valuable guidance and best practices as we as perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnostics, investigations, and problem resolution, all while managing and supporting the Corporate Communication and Surveillance Infrastructure. This infrastructure encompasses a wide range of components, including VHF/UHF base and handheld radios, Microwave Point to Point and Point to Multipoint systems, NDB systems, CCTV surveillance systems, Telephony systems, and the software applications essential for service delivery. The role will also be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on communication and surveillance systems, troubleshooting reported issues in communication services, and participating in security management and incident resolution.
Successful teamwork and collaboration with other departments are fundamental in delivering integrated projects that align with specific requirements.
Furthermore, this role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining telecommunication, radio communication, and CCTV systems. The role will also oversee communication systems and resources to meet performance standards, conducting daily system monitoring to ensure critical parameters stay within acceptable limits, and maintaining high availability.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications or equivalent, certifications in Telephony systems & Radio communications are preferred. The ideal candidate should have at least five years of experience in deploying and maintaining medium-scale Radio, Telephone communication, and Video Management Systems.
The successful candidate must possess in-depth expertise in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and managing various systems, including Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint radio networks, Time-division multiplexing telecommunication systems, Voice over IP communication systems, Handheld Radios, Base Stations, Marine and Air Band Radios, as well as Non-Directional Beacons, Satellite Communications, Video Conferencing, and Video Management Solutions.
