Job description
Charterhouse are currently working with a leading financial services client whom are in the process of looking to recruit a Vice President (VP), Compliance Sanctions Advisor.
About the role
This VP shall join an existing and well-established Financial Crime desk with a focus geared towards sanctions advisory and business risk assessment. With a reporting line to a Compliance Director, this role will support and oversee a team of AVP staff, with a focus towards the oversight and introduction of strong and robust controls.
This will be combined with the production and presentation of reports, to manage all sanctions advisory for on-boarding, client retention and any transactional execution. This role within a second line-of-defence, shall also be heavily geared towards monitoring and assessing regulatory and policy frameworks, across all regional jurisdictions and branch operations.
About you
The client will look to identify an experienced compliance professional, whom at a VP level, is able to “hit the ground running” in terms of both technical and hands-on exposure within a financial crime and sanctions-centric coverage. From a product and services point of view, the client will look to identify a candidate whom is familiar with areas of wholesale banking, trade finance and structured/project finance and the client engagement (via the front office) across these sectors.
Successful applicants shall also be required to demonstrate an up-to-date working knowledge of Central Bank and/or DFSA policy and regulation; to ensure both ease of inception and a knowledge transfer. This role shall demand a strong attention, from a checking and policy view, along with an ability to write reports for both senior management and all connected external parties.
