Job description
Charterhouse are currently partnering with a regional investment client, whom are in the process, of looking to identify an Officer of Finance & Operations. This role sits within a regional Business Support team and shall take overall financial reporting ownership, across their MENA market and business coverage, from their DIFC hub.
About The Role
This role will oversee core areas of accounting and finance-related responsibility including Middle and Back-office operations across the organisation. The Finance & Operations Officer will have a focus towards the production and delivery of management information (MIS), whilst ensuring accurate, timely and robust reporting packs for business support purposes. In addition to this, the role will involve managing any settlement, reconciliation and processing functions, whilst reviewing contractual agreements as well as supporting the KYC and AML process, linking to the first line-of-defence compliance function.
In conjunction, this Officer shall also support areas of governance and statutory accounting, to ensure that regulatory reporting returns (under the DFSA) are completed for timely submittal on a quarterly and annual basis. Finally, this job role will focus on project-related work; whereby accounting processes and data analysis can be developed and automated to streamline both external and internal reporting mechanisms.
About You
Our client will look to recruit a candidate with three to five years of post-qualified experience, within an accountancy-related discipline from a banking or financial services environment. Due to the broad spectrum of this role the client will look for a professionally qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with a technical capability to deliver from a financial and statutory accounting prospective whilst possessing a sound back-office operations understanding and strong compliance knowledge.
Applicants shall also be required to demonstrate a track record within the banking and/or financial services sector, combined with an ability to “sync in” to DFSA regulatory reporting and filing. The client is also looking to recruit a candidate with a strong Excel-based capability, allowing the undertaking and delivery of financial modelling and data analysis, coupled with the ability to develop accounting processes and reporting procedure on an ad-hoc and/or project basis.
