Charterhouse is working with a small professional services business looking to hire an experienced IT Support Specialist to join their Dubai HQ.
About the Role
The IT Support Specialist role is essential to ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the firm’s technology environment and delivering high quality support to a diverse group of corporate users. The position offers lots of ownership being a standalone vacancy.
In this position, the IT Support Specialist will take full responsibility for providing hands on technical support across the Dubai office, delivering Level 1–3 assistance to consultants, finance teams, and administrative departments. The role will be managing and resolving service desk requests, ensuring all incidents are addressed within agreed SLAs, and will oversee daily operational tasks related to user support, system troubleshooting, hardware configuration, software maintenance, and website management. Responsibilities also include managing all desktop and laptop devices, operating systems, printers, scanners, networking equipment, and a wide variety of business applications.
The IT Support Specialist further involves supporting virtualized environments using VMware and Hyper V, maintaining Veeam backup systems, and assisting in the broader management of the company’s data storage, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity practices. The role will also support IT projects, infrastructure upgrades, cloud optimization initiatives, and digital transformation efforts within the Dubai office. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with external vendors, supporting procurement activities, managing service contracts, and maintaining the VOIP telecommunications systems.
About You
Working within a professional services setting, the position requires strong communication skills and the ability to support a demanding user base. The ideal candidate will be expected to operate with a high level of professionalism, ensuring that IT services are delivered efficiently, securely, and with minimal business disruption.
Technical Requirements:
Installation, support, and troubleshooting of Windows 7/8/10/11, Linux/Unix, and macOS.
Installation and support of printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Microsoft Office
Experience with Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Defender.
Administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and PowerShell.
Network infrastructure knowledge including DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, VPN, WLAN, Cisco routers/switches, Wi Fi access points, SonicWall and Fortinet firewalls, Mimecast, and CCTV systems.
Experience with VMware, Hyper V virtualization, SAN storage solutions, and Veeam backup technologies.
Cloud-native architecture experience and strong understanding of Azure environments.
Background in project management, change management, and IT operations.
