Job description
Charterhouse are working in partnership with a Family Office based in Abu Dhabi. Our client is looking to hire an experienced QA Engineer with hands-on experience testing Web, iOS and Android environments. It is also beneficial if the candidate has worked with Capital Markets applications and systems.
About the Role
This QA Engineer will conduct hands-on manual testing of Capital Markets applications, designing well-structured test plans, scenarios, and cases that validate trading, order management, and market data workflows. The role will identify and document defects with clear technical and business context. The QA Engineer will also be looked upon to develop and maintain automation scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) and Selenium/Java, writing clean, reusable code and enhancing existing automation frameworks for improved stability and scalability.
In addition, the QA Engineer will perform both manual and automated API testing using Postman, validating REST APIs related to orders, trades, positions, reference data, and market data, while integrating automated API suites into CI/CD pipelines.
About You
The successful QA Engineer should have a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on QA experience, with a solid track record in manual testing, structured test planning, and high quality documentation. Strong experience in testing modern web applications and REST APIs is required. Candidate should have advanced coding proficiency in TypeScript and/or JavaScript, along with hands-on experience using Playwright for UI automation. Experience with API testing and automation using Playwright or Postman is essential, together with a strong understanding of automation frameworks, design patterns, and best practices.
Familiarity with tools such as Postman, GitLab, Playwright, Selenium, Zephyr, and modern IDEs including Cursor is expected. The successful candidate should have practical experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, and a good understanding of core web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Basic familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or similar script based load testing frameworks will be advantageous. Foundational domain knowledge of Capital Markets, particularly around trading, order lifecycle, and market data is a strong plus. Strong communication in English is essential.
